The Hunting Lodge ‘White Mischief’ New Zealand 2018

Blended White from New Zealand - Other
Review Date : 13-Dec-2018
Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour with some depth, pale on the rim. The nose is softly full, with gentle aromas of white and yellow stonefruits, a little nutty nuance with herbal suggestions and stonefruit kernels. This has firmness at the core and good intensity with an array of stonefruit detail. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has rich and softly packed flavours of white and yellow stonefruits along with subtle honied notes and hints of florals, spice and minerals. The mouthfeel is rouded and gentle acidity lends some vibrancy to the textures and delicate unctuousness. The flavours show a little floral lift and carry to a moderately long finish. This is a moderately rich and rounded, dry blended white with stonefruit flavours and an array of flavours with florals, honey and minerals on a palate with good weight, light textures and some unctuousness. Match with poultry, pork and most white meat dishes over the next 3 years. Hand-picked fruit, a blend of 5 varieties from 4 growing regions, fermented, partially with indigenous yeasts in stainless-steel and seasoned French oak to 13.0% alc. and 5 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months in lees in tank and seasoned barriques. 17.5/20 Dec 2018 RRP $30.00
