The Hunting Lodge Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2018

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Dec-2018
Bright, pale straw-yellow colour with light green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is full and voluminous with good concentration and well-packed aromas of pungent passionfruit and tropical fruits, along with fresh herbs and notes of nettles, cut-grass and capsicums. The aromatics are fulsome with very good intensity. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate has rich and lusciously sweet flavours of ripe, pungent passionfruit and tropical fruit with fresh herbs, nettles, snow peas and cut-grass, unfolding nuances of white florals. The fruit richness is balanced by some phenolic textures and grip, with fresh, background acidity lending crispness and zestiness.. This has depth, slight grip and linearity, and carries to a long, luscious finish. This is a rich and luscious passionfruity and tropical-fruited Sauvignon Blanc with some balancing textures and fresh acidity. Match with Pacific Rim fare over the next 2 years. Marlborough fruit, 70% from the Awatere and 30% Wairau, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.0% alc. and 3.2 g/L RS, the wine spending 4 months on light lees. 18.5/20 Dec 2018 RRP $22.00
