The Hunting Lodge Marlborough Albarino 2018

Other White from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Dec-2018
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with pale lemon-gold hues and some depth, lighter edged. The nose is elegantly taut and fine in expression with aromas of white stonefruits and an amalgam of white florals with mouthwatering minerals. This has a fine core and unfolds floral and herb detail with hints of nuts. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is elegant in presentation with a finely concentrated core of restrained flavours of white stonefruits and white florals, along with subtle notes of herbs and minerals. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively with bright acidity, and the flavours form a fine-textured core and line that carries to a dry, light, lingering finish. This is an elegant and taut dry Albarino with white stonefruit flavours, herbs and mineral nuances on a fine-textured palate with refreshing acidity. Match with seafood and Asian cuisine over the next 3 years. Hand-picked fruit from a single Awatere site, fermented in tank with 10% in seasoned French oak barriques to 13.0% alc. and 5.3 g/L RS, the wine aged 4 months on lees. 18.0/20 Dec 2018 RRP $26.00
