Pinot Noir fruit from Te Muna Road and town sites, fermented with 15% whole cluster to 13.9% alc., 30% of the wine aged 6 months in seasoned oak. Dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with purple hues, lighter on edge. This has a full, up-front and voluminous nose of ripe, primary black cherry, raspberry and black plum fruit aromas, along with fresh herb, earth and mineral detail. Medium-full bodied, full, softly mouthfilling, juicy flavours of raspberries, black cherries and plum jam feature on the palate. The mouthfeel is soft and fleshy, with supple, grainy tannins supporting the fruit. Soft acidity allows the flavours to broaden, with some alcohol power driving the wine to a densely packed finish of plums and jam. This is a full, up-front, fruity and juicy Pinot Noir with a soft mouthfeel. Match with pizza, pasta and barbecued dishes over the next 3 years. 17.5-/20 Nov 2013 RRP $24.00
