The Edge Martinborough Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 26-Nov-2013
Bright, pale straw yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh and cutting with intense, steely white and yellow stonefruit aromas along with subtle mineral, nutty and flinty notes. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, full and bold flavours of white and yellow stonefruits show with some succulence and richness. Pears, nuts and minerally elements unfold, and the palate line flows with support from fine, grainy textures and background acidity. There is good body, presence and mouthfeel, the phenolics leading to a dry, clean, nutty finish. This is a fresh, up-front, dry Pinot Gris with moderately succulent fruit and grainy textures. Serve with most white meat dishes over the next 2-3 years. Martinborough fruit from Te Muna and town sites, stainless-steel fermented to 12.6% alc. and 5 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 17.0/20 Nov 2013 RRP $19.00
