The Darling ‘Moscato Inspired’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2013

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 18-Aug-2014
Bright, very pale straw-green colour, near colourless on rim. This has a light, tight nose with up-front aromas of passionfruit, herbs, lime fruit and stalky-grassy notes. This is slender and steely in expression. Medium in sweetness and light bodied, fresh and sweet, juicy flavours of gooseberries and restrained passionfruit flavours are underlined by some phenolic textures and grip. There are grassy and herbal notes that add to the cool, freshness of the wine. The mouthfeel has a light acid zestiness to enliven the soft, lush fruitiness of the palate core, and the wine flows with good energy to a soft, dry-textured finish. This is a light, cool-fruited medium-sweet Sauvignon Blanc with freshness and texture. Serve as an aperitif, with Asian fare and with light fruit desserts over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Crawford’ vineyard, Rapaura, a portion stop-fermented to retain residual sugar and spritz, resulting in 9.0% alc. and 55 g.L RS. Certified BioGro organic. 16.5+/20 Aug 2014 RRP $22.00
