Very full, black-hued ruby-red colour with youthful purple hues. The bouquet is beautifully elegant and refined with vibrant, fresh blackberry fruit lifted with black and violet florals, pepper, spices and iron-earth mineral elements that build with excellent depth and density. Full-bodied and very tightly concentrated with lusciously sweet and succulent black fruit flavours, the mouthfeel exudes vitality and refinement with underlying power and drive. Subtle waves of oak, pepper, florals and spices are interwoven with iron-earth forming a complex and detailed core and line with wonderful vitality. The fruit is supported by very fine-grained, beautifully integrated and positive tannin extraction that allows the fruit sweetness to feature. The flavours are carried to a rich, finely concentrated and succulent lingering finish. This is an elegant and extremely refined Syrah with youthfully vibrant and succulent fruit and excellent structure. Serve with roasted and slow-cooked game meat and hard cheeses over the next 10-12+ years. 100% MS clone Syrah from 9 y.o. vines from the Roy’s Hill site, hand-picked, destemmed, given a cold soak and indigenous yeast initiated fermentation, with Rhone yeasts added, and fermented to 14.5% alc.
