Very dark, black-hued ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the edge with some purple. The bouquet is elegant and gently concentrated with aromas of savoury blackcurrants, herbs and mint notes, subtle stalk detail, green pepper and green olives. Medium-full bodied, the palate is finely presented with a core of savoury blackcurrants entwined with soft herbs, savoury capsicums and green olives. The mouthfeel is fresh and lively from bright acidity, and the wine follows a light, fine, grainy-textured line. The grip and fruit sweetness are in balance and the acidity carries the palate to an elegant, sustained, dry finish of currants and herbs. This is an elegant, refreshingly crisp Cabernet Sauvignon with some cool-spectrum flavours. Match with herb-marinated lamb and beef dishes over the next 4 years. A blend of 88% Cabernet Sauvignon and 12% Merlot from Clarksburg, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 14 months in 60% new oak, of which 80% was French and 20% was American. 16.5/20 Apr 2016 RRP $27.00
