The Crusher ‘Wilson Vineyard’ Clarksburg Cabernet Sauvignon 2012

Cabernet Sauvignon from USA
Review Date : 01-Dec-2014
Full, even, dark ruby-red colour, a little lighter on edge. The nose is soft and elegant with aromas of blackcurrants, stalk and green olives, along with herbs and leafy elements, complexed by a touch of pepper and subtle oak spice and cedar elements. Medium-full bodied and elegantly proportioned, the palate is finely concentrated with a harmonious amalgam of spicy blackcurrant fruit and cedary, toasty oak. The mouthfeel is balanced with good acid liveliness and light, supple tannins that allow the fruit sweetness and richness to feature. The wine leads to an elegant, long-lingering finish with blackcurrant and spice notes. This is an elegant and harmoniously balanced Cabernet Sauvignon with rich, spicy and lively fruit. Serve with roasted red meats and semi-hard cheeses over the next 4-5+ years. 92% Cabernet Sauvignon and 8% Merlot from the ‘Wilson’ vineyard, Clarksburg, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in French oak. 17.0+/20 Oct 2014 RRP $26.00
