The Crusher ‘Grower’s Selection Clarksburg Petite Sirah 2013

Other Red from USA
Review Date : 18-Nov-2015
Dark, deep, purple-hued black-red colour, youthful in appearance. The nose is softly rich with ripe aromas of dark raspberries and blackberry fruit, unfolding blueberry and plum jam notes. The aromatics are harmonious in presentation and grow in depth and concentration, showing liquorice and spice interest. Medium-full bodied, the palate s rich and plush with densely packed, sweet and ripe fruit flavours of dark red plums, blueberries, liquorice and spices. The fruit is supported by grainy tannin structure lending a fulsome mouthfeel matching the mouthfilling flavours. There is good underlying alcoholic power that drives the densely concentrated spiced plum flavours to a long, dry, textured finish. This is a fulsome, richly packed, ripe Petite Sirah with plum, liquorice and spicy flavours and plenty of tannin structure. Match with slow-cooked game meat and casseroles over the next 5-6+ years. 97% Petite Sirah and 3% Tempranillo, fruit predominantly from the ‘Lake Winchester’ vineyard, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 14 months in 60% new oak, 90% French and 10% Hungarian. 18.0/20 Nov 2015 RRP $26.00
