The Crusher ‘Grower’s Selection Clarksburg Petite Sirah 2012

Other Red from USA
Review Date : 01-Dec-2014
Very dark, near saturated black-red colour with youthful purple hues. The nose is tightly concentrated and a little restrained, revealing ripe black fruits, black pepper and ripe blueberry and boysenberry notes, with jam and violetty floral elements. Some oak toast and earthy, mineral nuance adds complexity. Medium-full bodied an elegantly concentrated, lusciously sweet and spicy fruit flavours of black fruits are layered with exotic spices and oak cedar. The fruit is supported by fine-grained, supple tannins. This palate core has good linearity, with balanced acid freshness vitality, carrying the flavours to a long, fine-textured finish. This is an elegant and tightly concentrated Petit Sirah with succulent fruit and balance, and a long finish. Serve with Middle Eastern cuisine, lamb, beef and game meat over the next 4-5 years. 88% Petite Sirah clone 3, 6% Alicante Bouschet and 6% Pinot Noir, mainly from the ‘Lake Winchester’ vineyard, Clarksburg, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 80% French oak and 20% Hungarian, 80% of the oak new. 17.5/20 Oct 2014 RRP $26.00
