Dark, deep, ruby-red colour, a little lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full and gently voluminous with aromas of ripe blackcurrants and cassis liqueur, blackberries and hints of herbs and pepper. This has good varietal fragrance and clarity. Medium-full bodied, the palate has an elegantly concentrated and firm core of blackcurrants intermingling with cassis, blackberries and mint. The palate has very good linearity and fruit clarity, and flows along a fine-textured line with good grip and structure, carrying to an elegant, lingering finish. This Cabernet Sauvignon has varietal clarity with a fine structure and line. Serve with lamb and beef, and semi-hard cheeses over the next 4+ years. California fruit, a blend of 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Petite Sirah, and 4% each Tempranillo and Merlot, fermented to 13.5% alc., the wine aged 15 months in 80% new French oak (40%), American oak (40%) and Hungarian oak (20%). 17.5+/20 Aug 2018 RRP $27.00
