The Crossings Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2017

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Jan-2018
Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on the rim. The nose is very elegant and slender in presentation with delicately concentrated passionfruit aromas along with snow peas and fresh herbs, white florals and chalky minerals, Nutty and cut grass elements emerge with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate is taut and slender with zesty and brisk flavours of cut grass, nettles, fresh herbs and gooseberry fruit. The mouthfeel is zingy with racy acidity, and the wine flows along a tight, thirst-quenching line, leading to a dry finish with cool-spectrum fruit flavours. This is a crisp and bracing cool-spectrum Sauvignon Blanc with cut grass, nettle and gooseberry fruit on a mouthwatering, dry palate. Serve as an aperitif and with shellfish over the next 2 years. Fruit from the ‘Medway’, Willow Flat’ and ‘Brackenfield’ vineyards cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 3.9 g/L RS. 16.0+/20 Jan 2018 RRP $18.99
