The Crossings Awatere Valley Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 13-Feb-2013
Fruit from the Awatere Valley including a significant portion from the ‘Medway' vineyard fermented to 13.0% alc. and 3.5 g/L rs. Bright, pale straw-yellow, near colourless on rim. This has a very fresh, fine and tightly bound nose with delicate aromas of fresh herbs, limes and gooseberries with a minerally, wet stone edge suggesting a little youthful reduction. Dry to taste, light and tight, youthfully fresh flavours of gooseberries, green capsicums and minerals form a fine line with good depth and drive through the palate. The mouthfeel is soft and slender with restrained acidity, and the flavours are carried to a tight, lightly nuanced finish with some length. This is a delicate and slender, minerally Sauvignon Blanc with some depth that will unfold over the next 2 years. Serve with shellfish and salads over the next 2 years. 16.0+/20 Feb 2013 RRP $18.95
