The Crossings Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Noir 2016

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Jan-2018
Even, light ruby-red colour with a lighter edge and slight purple tints. The nose is very soft and light with gentle aromas of dark-red cherry and berry fruit, along with a subtle amalgam of dark herbs, liquorice and spice nuances. The aromatics grow in volume with aeration. Medium-bodied, the palate has a soft and harmoniously integrated core of soft red cherry and berry fruit, along with subtle notes of dark herbs and spices. The mouthfeel is soft and smooth with light structure and integrated acidity. The wine carries smoothly to a light finish of liquorice and spices. This is a softly integrated and harmoniously presented Pinot Noir with red berry fruits along with hints of liquorice and spices. Serve with pasta and risotto, tuna and salmon over the next 2-3 years. Awatere Valley fruit fermented to 12.5% alc., the wine aged in new and seasoned French oak barriques. 16.5+/20 Jan 2018 RRP $19.99
