The Crossings Awatere Valley Marlborough Pinot Gris 2017

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Jan-2018
Bright, very pale straw colour, near colourless on the edge. The nose is fresh with light and uncomplicated aromas of white stonefruits along with suggestions of honeysuckle and exotic white florals. The fruit forms an elegantly concentrated core that intensifies with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, the palate has a taut and moderately concentrated heart of white stonefruits, white florals and hints of honeysuckle. The mouthfeel is bright and lively with racy acidity, and the wine flows with plenty of energy and tension to a light, lingering finish. This is a tightly bound, moderately concentrated dry Pinot Gris with white stonefruit, white floral and honeysuckle flavours on a racy palate. Serve with Thai, Vietnamese and Japanese cuisine over the next 2 years. Awatere Valley fruit cool-fermented to 12.5% alc. and 4.4 g/L RS, the wine aged 2 months on lees. 16.5/20 Jan 2018 RRP $18.99
