The Cherry Orchard Bannockburn Central Otago Pinot Noir 2013

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Otago
Review Date : 04-Feb-2017
Even ruby-red colour with slight garnet hues, lighter on the rim. This has an elegant bouquet of soft red berry fruits lifted by some volatile notes, unfolding soft suggestions of herbs, nutty oak, and red florals. Medium-bodied, the palate is up-front and finely proportioned with fresh and gently rich flavours of soft red berry fruits along with lifted florals, herbs and nutty oak. The fruit is moderately extracted providing light tannin structure, and the mouthfeel enlivened by fresh, underlying acidity. The flavours recede as the wine carries to a light finish. This is an elegant, up-front, red berry fruited Pinot Noir with lift and florals, light grip and a fresh mouthfeel. Match with firm-fleshed seafood and poultry over the next 3-4 years. Abel clone fruit, destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in seasoned oak. 16.5/20 Feb 2017 RRP $28.00
