The Boneline ‘Waimanu’ Waipara Pinot Noir 2014

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 27-Oct-2015
Dark, moderately deep, purple-hued ruby-red, youthful in appearance. This has a bright and aromatic nose of ripe, dark raspberry fruit with lifted red florals of whole berry fermentation, the fruit focussed and deep, and primary in expression. Medium-full bodied, up-front, sweet and juicy flavours of raspberries and whole berry florals are enlivened by fresh and lively acidity. The fruit is youthfully primary and aromatic, and the mouthfeel poised and vibrantly rich. Supple tannins underline and moderate extraction supports the fruit, allowing the fruit sweetness to feature. The palate leads to a vibrant, fruity finish with nuances of florals, liquorice and plums. This is a bright, vibrantly juicy and plush, raspberry-fruited Pinot Noir with fresh acidity and supple tannins. Serve with Asian cuisine over the next 5 years. Fruit destemmed and fermented with whole berries and a portion of whole bunches to 14.0% alc., the wine spending approx. one week on skins post ferment and aged one year in French oak. 18.0-/20 Oct 2015 RRP $40.00
