11 different clones of Chardonnay, hand-picked, WBP and fully barrel-fermented to 13.2% alc., a small portion of the wine fermented with skins, the wine aged in 20% new French oak undergoing batonnage and approx. 25% through MLF. Bright, light straw-yellow colour, lighter edged. The nose is very elegant and finely proportioned with fresh and bright citrus fruits and white stonefruits, unveiling subtle creamy barrel-ferment elements along with delicate complexing flinty and minerally notes, revealing oak toast in the glass. Medium-bodied, this is tightly bound and very elegant in proportion, with delicate citrus and stonefruit flavours harmoniously melded with spicy, toasty oak and creamy, lemon-curd MLF. The mouthfeel is lively and poised with bright lacy acidity and the wine follows a fine and dry textural thread leading to a racy, complex-nuanced finish with some underlying creaminess. This is a fresh, crisp citrussy Chardonnay with subtle creaminess and oak notes. A match with seafood over the next 4 years. 17.5/20 Oct 2015 RRP $35.00
