Terroir Wines ‘Stampede’ Martinborough 2011

Cabernet Sauvignon from New Zealand - Wairarapa & Wellington
Review Date : 26-Feb-2017
Full, very dark, deep, black-red colour, a little lighter on the edge with slight garnet hues. The nose is firmly concentrated and intense with fragrant blackberry and blackcurrant fruit aromas along with subtle dark herbal and stalk elements, revealing cassis liqueur notes. The fruit is fresh and primary in expression. Medium-full bodied, the fruit is luscious and vibrant with a fine core of harmoniously entwined flavours of blackberries and blackcurrants, with cassis and dark herbs. The fruit has vitality and energy, and is supported by fine-grained tannin extraction providing a positive line. The wine carries to an elegant, long finish of black fruits and herbs. This is an elegantly concentrated, vibrant, black-fruited Cabernet Sauvignon with fine-grained tannins and linearity. Match with herb-marinated lamb and beef dishes over the next 5+ years. 100% Cabernet Sauvignon, fermented to 13.3% alc., the wine spending 6 weeks on skins and bottled after 9 months tank maturation without contact. 17.5+/20 Feb 2017 RRP $32.00
