TerraVin ‘Reserve’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2010

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Aug-2011
A selection of the three best barrels of the Chardonnay production. Southern Valleys fruit undergoing wild ferment over 6 months to 12.7% alc., the wine aged another 9 months in oak thereafter. Brilliant straw-yellow with golden hues, quite full. The nose is rich with subtle layers of ripe yellow stonefruits, nuts, minerals, quite fresh and vibrant. Tropical fruit and toasty oak nuances unfold in the glass. Dry and full-bodied, this has a harmoniously interwoven palate of savoury citrus fruits, smoky flintiness, nuts and oak. The acidity is integrated, the wine showing excellent tension and freshness to match the breadth and richness. This has power and weight with balance and interest from complex reduction, very much in the white burgundian style. Serve with good seafood and poultry and white meat courses over the next 4-6 years. 18.5+/20 Aug 2011 RRP $40.00
