TerraVin Marlborough Pinot Noir 2010

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Apr-2012
Moderately deep ruby-red colour with a little garnet. This has a soft, full nose of ripe dark berry fruits and florals, unfolding layers of fruit and perfume nuances. An elegant wine, the palate shows subtle, but building flavours of rich, dark raspberry and cherry fruits that become luscious. The tannins are fine-grained, quite supple, and with balanced acidity, this is quite complete in balance. The flavours show spice and oak elements on the long, fine, grainy finish. This will develop over the next 5-6 years.  18.5/20  Apr 2012 Fruit from the ‘Eaton', ‘Cowley' and ‘Clayvin' vineyards, fully destemmed and indigenous yeast fermented to13.5% alc., the wine aged 11 months in French oak. Bright light ruby-red colour with some depth and light purple hues. The nose is full and voluminous with solid aromas of fresh, dark berry and raspberry fruits along with some notes of garden herbs. Fullish bodied, this is a fairly robust and fully-textured wine, the structure encasing sweetly ripe dark berry fruit and raspberry liqueur flavours. The wine is openly fruity and well-balanced with good acidity, matching the tannin extraction, and finishes with ripe and sweet fruit flavours. Serve with rich Mediterranean lamb and beef dishes over the next 5-6+ years. 18.0+/20 Aug 2011 RRP $40.00
