TerraVin ‘Hillside Reserve’ Marlborough Chardonnay 2013

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 04-Feb-2015
Brilliant, even, straw-yellow colour with lemon-gold hues, lighter on rim. This has a fresh and bright nose with good volume of yellow stonefruit aromas, along with herbs, nuts and a steely, mineral note. Medium-full bodied, bright and lively fruit flavours of citrus and yellow stonefruits are entwined with subtle creamy barrel-ferment and nutty elements. The mouthfeel is lively with lacy acidity enhancing the fruit freshness and lending a steely edge. The wine has good underlying power and drive and the palate leads to a harmoniously layered, long, lingering finish that blossoms in creamy, nutty and toasty nuances. This is a fresh, lively Chardonnay with underlying power and a palate that blossoms in complexing nutty and toasty detail. Serve with grilled and panfried seafood and poultry over the next 5+ years. Fruit from the ‘TerraVin Hillside Vineyard’, indigenous yeast barrel-fermented to 13.6% alc., the wine aged 14 months in 11% new oak with no batonnage and approx. 25% MLF. 18.5-/20 Feb 2015 RRP $40.00
