Terrace Heights Estate ‘The Moa’ Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2011

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 25-Oct-2012
Fruit from the ‘Terrace Heights Estate' fermented to 12.5% alc. and 1.0 g/L rs, the wine aged 12 months in old oak barrels. Bright, full and even, pale straw-yellow colour with some green hues. Gooseberry and nectarine fruit with dark herb notes form an up-front amalgam with oak spices on the nose, the aromatics showing good depth and intensity. Dry and medium-bodied, this has striking, moderately intense flavours of nectarines, gooseberries, nuts and spices on a mouthfilling palate. The flavours gently flow with breadth and the mouthfeel is softly dry, though there is good acidity and energy underlining the fruit. The oaking is a noticeable feature, but not overly dominant, and carries through to a light, spicy finish. This is an accessible, oak influenced, spicy nectarine flavoured Sauvignon Blanc to serve with grilled seafood and herb-marinated poultry over the next 2 years. 17.0+/20 Oct 2012 RRP $23.95
