Terrace Heights Estate Marlborough Viognier 2011

Viognier from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 08-Jul-2012
Fruit from the ‘T.H.E.' vineyard, hand-picked and WBP, fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 5.5 g/L rs. The wine was then transferred to old barriques and given batonnage. Brilliant pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. This has a light, bright and fresh nose with subtle apricot, musk and delicate herb aromas, showing attractive purity, and gently revealing growing fruit depth. Dry to taste, gentle flavours of apricots, citrus zest and musk show with excellent clarity, the palate possessing excellent presence and body. The alcohol and acidity provide good cut and drive, with very fine textures in support of the palate line. The flavours build and carry through to a crisp, racy finish with lifted citrus nuances. This is a delicate and pure Viognier that builds with subtlety. Match with mild Asian seafood and poultry dishes over the next 3-4 years. 17.0+/20 Jul 2012 RRP $25.00
