Syrah fruit from the level upper terrace block and the ‘Bank Block’ indigenous yeast fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine spending 14-28 days on skins and aged 13 months in 20-25% new French oak. Very full, dark, deep, black-hued ruby-red colour with purple hues on rim. The bouquet is very fine, soft and elegant, with tightly bound, fragrant aromas of ripe black and red berry fruits intermingling with black pepper and violetty perfumes. Medium-bodied and elegantly proportioned, the flavours of black berried fruits, pepper and spices are lifted with dark red and violet floral notes. The palate is tight and softly concentrated, the fine-grained tannins providing a seamless, textured flow. The acidity is restrained, adding to the gentle mouthfeel, and the flavours lead to a moderately sustained finish with pepper and floral nuances.
