Terrace Edge Waipara Valley Sauvignon Blanc 2012

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 03-Feb-2013
100% Sauvignon Blanc cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.5% alc. and 2 g/L rs, the wine undergoing batonnage over 6 weeks. Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is softly voluminous with a harmonious amalgam of gooseberry, herb and nettle aromas that reveal tropical fruit elements in the glass. Dry to taste, bold and lively, up-front flavours of gooseberries and nettles are lifted by exotic tropical fruit nuances. The palate is underlined by racy and zesty acidity and well-handled phenolics that form a fine-textured and tight mouthfeel. The flavours are carried by the acid drive to an elegantly proportioned finish with good concentration and moderate length. This is a full-flavoured, but tight and elegantly proportioned, racy Sauvignon Blanc to serve with shellfish and creamy sauced dishes over the next 2 years. 16.5/20 Jan 2013 RRP $17.50 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade', the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews' operates
