Terrace Edge Waipara Valley Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 12-Dec-2014
Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The nose is softly full and broad with moderately deep aromas of exotic yellow stonefruits with subtle layers of herbs, lifted florals and nuances of honey. Medium-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the fruit is gently expressed with restrained flavours of white and yellow stonefruits, florals and honey at the core. There is good mouthfeel and presence, with mellow acidity and a very fine textured line encasing the fruit. The wine is well-balanced and harmonious, flowing smoothly to a light finish with nuances of stonefruit and honeysuckle. This is a soft, gentle, medium-dry Pinot Gris with good mouthfeel and presence. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 3+ years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented with 60% in seasoned French oak to 13.5% alc. and 12.4 g/L RS, the wine undergoing batonnage. Certified BioGro organic. 17.5+/20 Dec 2014 RRP $21.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
