Terrace Edge Waipara Valley Pinot Gris 2013

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 25-Mar-2014
Bright, light golden-hued straw-yellow colour, lighter on rim. The bouquet is full and voluminous with rich and densely packed aromas of ripe yellow stonefruits, exotic tropical fruits, pears and honey. Medium to medium-dry in taste, softly rich and dense flavours of ripe tropical fruits, pears and honey form a weighty and unctuous palate. The mouthfeel is soft, rounded and plush, the acidity a little low, this contributing to the weight, roundness and creamy textures. The flavours grow to fill the palate with breadth and the wine flows to a rich, deep and lingering finish with exotic fruit and honied notes. This is a fulsome, soft and unctuous, medium-dry Pinot Gris with exotic fruit and honey flavours and a degree of decadence. Serve with mildly spicy Asian and Middle Eastern fare, paté and semi-hard cheeses over the next+ years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP and indigenous yeast fermented, with 80% in seasoned oak barrels to 14.0% alc. and 15 g/L RS. 18.5+/20 Mar 2014 RRP $21.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
