Terrace Edge Waipara Valley ‘Classic’ Riesling 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 25-Mar-2016
Bright straw-yellow colour with pale lemon-green hues, lighter on the rim. The nose is softly full and concentrated with rich and ripe aromas of limes and honeysuckle interwoven with complex layers of minerals and subtle toasty elements. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, the mouthfeel is soft and rounded with a densely packed core of ripe lime and citrus fruit, along with honeysuckle and savoury honey, and waves of minerals and nuances of toast. This has weight and presence, the palate near unctuous in texture, and with the acidity smoothly integrated. The wine flows seamlessly to a soft, rounded, lingering finish with honied elements. This is a smooth and near unctuous off-dry Riesling with lime, savoury honey, mineral and toasty detail. Match ith Middle Eastern and Asian fare over the next 4+ years. Hand-picked fruit, WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.0% alc. and 12.5 g/L RS, TA 8.93 g/L and pH 3.29. 18.5-/20 Mar 2016 RRP $23.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
