Terrace Edge Waipara Pinot Gris 2010

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 09-May-2011
Whole bunch pressed and fermented with native yeasts to 14.5% alc. in seasoned oak barrels, this was given lees stirring. Light straw-yellow colour with golden hues, this has a soft, full, rich bouquet of honey, stonefruits and spiced pears, along with complexing smoky nuances. There is excellent depth, volume and substance to the aromatics. With 15 g/L rs, this is medium-dryish to taste and is attractively luscious and honied, with ripe pear flavours that show lusciousness and succulence. Lovely unctuous textures have near perfect cut from the alcohol and acidity, these being in excellent harmony. Match with antipasto, poultry, pork and Asian cuisine over the next 3-5+ years. 18.5/20 May 2011 RRP $23.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade', the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews' operates
