Terrace Edge Pinot Noir 2019, North Canterbury

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 01-Mar-2022
Medium deep ruby-red, lighter on the rim. This wine has an enticing, broody bouquet slowly growing in volume, dark herbs, earthy soil interweave black cherries, Doris plums along with black pepper and cinnamon. Medium-bodied, the palate is concentrated with the richness of dried thyme, lavender and liquorice, underlined black cherries and plums enriched by black pepper, cinnamon, nutmeg and savoury earth element. Dark and broody aromas throughout the palate enliven by balancing lacy acidity; supple, velvety tannins lined a soft grip, directed a long, dry finish. This is an elegantly rich, broody Pinot Noir with dark fruit, herbaceous details and a velvety mouthfeel. Match with lamb rack and hare over the next 5-7 years. Handpicked, fermented with indigenous yeast to 13.5% alc, aged in French oak for 12 months. Organic certified. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts ) Feb 2022 RRP $32
