Terrace Edge ‘Liquid Geography’ Waipara Valley Riesling 2015

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 15-Jun-2016
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with slight green hues, pale on the rim. The nose is finely concentrated and delicately detailed with pristine aromas of lime fruit entwined with exotic white and yellow florals, rainwater and suggestions of honeysuckle and talc botrytis. Mineral and wet-stone elements are refreshing and mouthwatering. Medium-sweet and light-bodied, refined and intricate flavours of limes and exotic white florals are interwoven with honey and talc, along with fresh mineral elements. The palate is beautifully balanced and poised, the richness cut by the lacy acidity. This has excellent tension, and the wine flows along a very soft, fine-textured line, leading to a long and sustained finish of limes, florals and honeysuckle. This is a refined, delicately and intricately detailed medium Riesling with fine exotic flavours and freshness. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine, with fruit and light, baked desserts over the next 5+ years. A reduced crop of 4.8 tonnes only, due to spring frosts. Hand-picked fruit, clones 239 and 110, with 10-12% botrytis, WBP, and cool-fermented to 10.5% alc., and approx. 35 g/L RS, TA 8.72 and pH 3.21. Certified BioGro organic. 19.0+/20 Jun 2016 RRP $21.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
