Terrace Edge ‘Liquid Geography’ Waipara Valley Riesling 2014

Riesling from New Zealand - Canterbury & Waipara
Review Date : 09-Dec-2015
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with green-gold hues, lighter on the rim. This has a softly full and gently packed and layered nose of lime fruit with nuances of lemonade, white florals, along with harmoniously entwined notes of savoury honey, talc and musk botrytis. The aromatics are refined and seamlessly presented. Sweet to taste and medium-bodied, gently rich and luscious flavours of limes, white and yellow florals and savoury honey are melded with talc botrytis and a musky overlay. The flavours form a well-concentrated, rounded core with fine phenolic structure, texture and line to balance the sweetness. Soft, lacy acidity lends energy and supports the linear flow of the deep core as it carries to a soft-textured, long lingering finish of citrus fruits, savoury honey and botrytis. This is a gently rich and luscious, medium-sweet Riesling with a positive core of citrus fruit melded with talc and musky botrytis. Serve as an aperitif, with fruit, and Middle Eastern and Asian cuisine over the next 4+ years. Hand-picked fruit, over 30% botrytis infected, WBP, and fermented in stainless-steel to 12.5% alc. and 35 g/L RS, TA 9.4 g/L and pH 3.17. Certified BioGro organic. 18.5/20 Dec 2015 RRP $21.95 Disclaimer: This wine is distributed by ‘Wine2Trade’, the company under which ‘Raymond Chan Wine Reviews’ operates
