Tercius Tejo Touriga Nacional 2011

Other Red from Portugal
Review Date : 19-Oct-2014
Full, near impenetrable black-red colour with youthful purple hues. This has a firm deep and solid nose with ripe black and red fruits infused with black plum jam, leather and tarry aromas, unveiling earth, plum and lifted floral elements. Full-bodied, deep, ripe and sweet, black berried and plummy fruits form a densely packed palate. The wine unfolds layers of jam, earth and tarry interest. The mouthfeel is juicy and lively, with the fruit supported by enlivening acidity and plenty of tannin structure. This is mouthfilling and rich with good robust textures, the wine in balance and proportion. The palate carries to a strong, driven, densely packed, fruity finish. This is a fulsome, robust and fleshy Touriga Nacional with plenty of structure and power. Serb with barbecued foods and roasted red meats and casseroles over the next 5+ years. 100% Touriga Nacional from the Tejo region, given a cold soak and fermented to 13.5% alc. 18.5-/20 Oct 2014 RRP $22.99
