Shiraz from Australia - South Australia
Review Date : 26-Aug-2024
Deep, ink purple, lighter on the rim. This has a rich bouquet with aromas of black plum, blackberry, game, lavender and black pepper. Full-bodied, aromas of black plum, blackberry coulis, herbs, lavender, game meat and black pepper. The mouthfeel is velvety with a fine-grained tannin structure. The fruit has good concentration and weight, and plush acidity enlivens and drives a long, savoury finish. This single block Shiraz reflects the pedigree of the fruit and gentle winemaking allows the fruit to express its breadth. Match with lamb stew and wild boar over the next 10 years. Fruit from One Tree Hill GI in the Mount Lofty Ranges, handpicked, destemmed, fermented in temperature-controlled open-top fermenters, 12 days on skins, basket pressed to 100% new French oak hogheads for 12 months. Unfined, unfiltered. 15% alc. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) Aug 2024 RRP $50
