Full, deep vivid purple, lighter on the rim. The nose is gently full and elegant, with fresh bramble, blueberry, black pepper and a touch of spice. Full-bodied, aromas of bramble and blueberry are balancely ripened and entwined with herb, black pepper and star anise. The fruit is ripe and vibrant with a sense of purity and good concentration, along with fine-grained, smooth tannins provide a nicely mouthfeeling palate but not too heavy. This Shiraz is well-made, with a pure expression, succulent fruit and a fine tannin structure. Match with lamb burgers and ribs over the next 5+ years. Fruit from One Tree Hill GI in the Mount Lofty Ranges, handpicked, destemmed, fermented in temperature-controlled open-top fermenters, 7-14 days on skins, basket pressed to French oak barrels, aged for 12 months, 20% new oak.
