Telmo Rodriguez ‘Paga La Jara’ Toro 2007

Tempranillo from Spain
Review Date : 18-Mar-2011
Made from 100% bush vine Tinta de Toro and Albillo from five sites around the towns of Argujillo, Villabuena and Morales in Toro, fermented to 14.5% alc., and matured 18 months in French oak, 70% new. Near impenetrable black purple-red, this has a very tight and intense bouquet of delicately expressed black florals and fruits, quite ethereal with perfumes and savoury nuances. On palate, a beautifully structured wine with classical, elegant proportions. The flavours are of lush black berries and black currant fruit, laced by considerable spicy, cedary oak. The extract is huge, but extremely fine-grained. This tightly bound wine will need 10-15 years to realise its potential. RRP $105.00  Mar 2011
