Te Whare Ra ‘Single Vineyard 5182’ Marlborough Gewurztraminer 2015

Gewurztraminer from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 16-Nov-2015
Hand-picked fruit from the ‘TWR Home Block’, from vines planted in 1979, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.9% alc. and 15 g/L RS, TA 5.0 g/L and pH 3.85. Brilliant pale straw-yellow colour with subtle light golden hues. The nose is full, broad and voluminous with well-concentrated aromas of rose-petal florals and Turkish Delight layered with orange blossom, musk and honeysuckle, along with intricate clove, spice and mineral detail. The aromatics are harmoniously presented and grow in richness and depth. Medium-dry to medium in sweetness, full, soft and gently luscious flavours of exotic florals, Turkish delight, spices, honey and root ginger form a softly rounded, but densely concentrated core. This has real palate presence and breadth with underlying alcoholic power and drive. Soft, integrated acidity and a subtle phenolic line guide the flavours to a full, open aromatic finish with exotic florals, honey and spices. This is a rich, full, rounded and layered medium Gewurztraminer with power and flavours of florals, honey and spices. Serve with Asian and Middle Eastern cuisine over the next 4-5 years. Certified BioGro organic. 220 cases made. 19.0+/20 Nov 2015 RRP $35.00
