Te Whare Ra Marlborough Riesling ‘M’ 2013

Riesling from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 06-Jun-2014
Clones GM110 and GM198, hand-picked from the ‘TWR Home Block’, WBP and cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 10.5% alc. and 25 g/L RS, TA 8.6 g/L and pH 2.9. Bright, even, pale straw-yellow colour with pale green hues, lighter on rim. The nose is gently full with subtle breadth, volume and presence, showing white florals infused with the most delicate nuances of flint, suggesting lees, mouthwatering wet-stone elements and toast. Medium in sweetness and light-medium bodied, the delicate flavours of citrus fruits and florals are enriched by luscious honeysuckle detail, the sweetness and succulence balanced by fine, lacy, thirst-quenching acidity and a fine-textured phenolic line. This palate has energy and poise, carrying the wine to a long, lingering, sweetly nuanced finish. This is an elegantly luscious and lacy medium Riesling with a fine-textured linearity. Serve as an aperitif and with Asian fare over the next 5-6 years. Certified BioGro organic. 253 cases made. 19.0/20 Jun 2014. RRP $28.00
