Te Pa Pinot Noir 2021, Marlborough

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 10-Jun-2022
Deep, ruby-red with a purple hue, lighter on edge. The nose is elegantly presented, full and gentle, with enticing red and black fruit, herbs and spice aromas. Medium-full bodied, lacy acidity carries red and black cherries, unfolding spice, dark herbs and savoury earth. The fruit is ripe with well-balanced flavours and fine acidity, enriched by finely-extracted tannins, lingering with broody fruit spice and savoury components. This broody Pinot Noir possesses beautiful fruit, spice and a fine tannin frame. Match with lamb loin and pork roast over the next 6-8 years. 100% Pinot Noir from a single vineyard Taylor River, handpicked, fermented in a 6T open-top fermenters with 15%-30% whole bunch to 14.3% alc, cold-soaked for 5-7 days and a further 7-15 days post-ferment maceration, aged in French oak barrels for 11 months, 30% new oak. 18.5+/20 pts (94 pts) June 2022 RRP $34.95
