Te Pa Pinot Gris 2022, Marlborough

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 30-Nov-2022
Bright, even, pale straw-yellow. The nose is fragrant and gently full, with aromas of Nashi pear and apple interweaved with honeysuckle, lily and delicate spice. Medium-full bodied, aromas of Nashi pear and bruised apple entwined with custard apple, honeysuckle, lily, citrus zest and ginger dusting. The intense and dense fruit resembles an oily flow, and saline lingers to a savoury, zesty finish alongside lively acidity. This dry, mouth-filling Pinot Gris shows concentrated fruit, floral, saline and spice on an oily mouthfeel with refreshing acidity and a long finish. Match with Vietnamese cuisine and five-spice pork chop over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from Awatere 70%, Wairau Bar 30%, whole bunch pressed, fermented cool in stainless steel tanks to 12.5% alc, 3.5g/l RS. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Nov 2022 RRP $19.99
