Te Pa Pinot Gris 2021, Marlborough

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 02-Sep-2021
Bright, pale straw-yellow, even colour throughout. The nose is full, packed with concentrated and depth aromas of ripe pear, quince melded with honeysuckle, rich white floral and a light dusting of spice. Medium-bodied, nuances of pear and quice have a concentrated core, entwined with honey, honeysuckle, white spice, and citrus linger to a sustained finish. The fruit has ripeness and lively acidity support, carry the flavours with vibrancy on a crisp palate. Subtle creaminess contributes to the mouthfeel, and spices enliven the finish. Match with fish cakes and pork dumplings over the next 3-4 years. Fruit was from Redwood Hills, Awatere Vineyard, whole bunch pressed, fermented 80% in stainless steel, 20% in seasoned barrels to 13.5% alc, 3.5g/l RS. The barrel portion aged on gross lees prior to blending. 18.5/20 pts (93 pts) Spet 2021 RRP $18.95
