te Pa Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2015

Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 17-Aug-2015
Bright, very pale straw colour with slight green hues. The nose is full and even with up-front pungent passionfruit aromas entwined with gooseberry, nettle and mineral notes. The aromatics are harmoniously presented and gently build in concentration with aeration. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, moderately concentrated flavours of passionfruit, cut grass and nettles show with stylish restraint. The fruit is underlined by some phenolic textures and drying grip that balances the fruit sweetness. Soft, lacy acidity lends freshness and energy to carry the fruit and textures to a soft, grainy finish. This is a passionfruity Sauvignon Blanc with some concentration and dry textures. Serve with Pacific Rim fare over the next 18 months to 2 years. 90% Wairau Bar and 10% Awatere fruit, all estate vineyards, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 13.2% alc. and 3.0 g/L RS, the wine undergoing light batonnage. 17.5/20 Aug 2015 RRP $19.99
