Light strawberry-peach colour with some depth and pale purple tints on the rim. This has a soft, full and gently concentrated nose of cranberries, strawberries, red florals and subtle herb elements, the aromatics showing some thirst-quenching mineral notes. Off-dry to taste and medium-bodied, soft fruit flavours of cranberries, strawberries and confectionary are lifted by red floral notes. Nuances of minerals are enlivened, along with the mouthfeel, by light, lacy acidity. The wine follows a fine phenolic thread which leads the palate to a clean dry finish with red floral and cranberry flavours. This is a gentle, dryish Rosé with cranberry and floral fruit flavours. Serve as an aperitif, with antipasto and tapas over the next 2 years. A blend of 90% Pinot Noir and 10% Pinot Gris, the Pinot Noir comprising 50% of the blend from Selmes Road, eastern Rapaura and 40% from Bedford Road, Renwick, and the 10% Pinot Gris from the ‘Upper Wairau’ vineyard, fermented to 13.0% alc. and 5 g/L RS. 17.5-/20 Mar 2016 RRP $19.99
