te Pa Marlborough Pinot Noir 2015

Pinot Noir from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Mar-2017
Ruby-red colour with some depth and pale purple hues on the rim. The nose is fresh with firm and tightly bound aromas of black cherries and dark-red berry fruit along with an amalgam of liquorice, herbs and violet florals at the core. Medium-full bodied, the palate is tightly bound with a firm, but elegant heart of dark-red cherry and berry fruit entwined with nuances of liquorice, herbs and subtle floral elements. The fruit is underlined by fine-grained extraction providing a firm palate line with integrated acidity. The wine carries to an elegant, lingering finish of black cherries. This is a firm and elegantly concentrated Pinot Noir with black cherry fruit and good linearity. Match with pork, lamb and beef over the next 4-5 years. 80% Omaka fruit, clones 667, 115 and 10/5, and 20% Benmorven Road fruit, clones 777 and 5, indigenous yeast fermented with 10-30% whole clusters to 14.0% alc., the wine spending 7-15 days on skins post ferment, and aged 10 months in 20% new French oak. 18.0-/20 Mar 2017 RRP $29.99
