te Pa Marlborough Pinot Gris 2016

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 07-Mar-2017
Bright straw-yellow colour with light golden hues and a suggestion of blush, paler edged. The nose is fresh and aromatic with lifted pear fruit entwined with exotic florals and yellow stonefruits, unveiling subtle honied notes. Dryish to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate is bright and lively with aromatic fruit flavours of exotic florals, pear fruit, and lifted esters, and honeysuckle notes. The wine has a finely concentrated core and flows along a finely textured line with balanced, fresh acidity lending energy and tension. Some underlying alcoholic power adds to the drive, and the palate carries to a long and sustained finish of pears and florals. This is a bright and lively, aromatic, dryish Pinot Gris with pear and exotic floral fruit on a vibrant line. Match with Asian cuisine over the next 3-4 years. Fruit from the Redwood Hills vineyard, Awatere, fermented in stainless-steel to 14.0% alc. and 5 g/L RS, the wine aged on lees. 18.0+/20 Mar 2017 RRP $19.99
