te Pa Marlborough Pinot Gris 2014

Pinot Gris from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 11-May-2015
Bright, light straw-yellow colour with lemon-green hues, pale on rim. The nose is fresh clean and up-front with accessible white and yellow stonefruit aromas along with floral notes and lifted esters. Subtle flinty lees nuances emerge with aeration. Dryish to taste and medium-bodied, fresh, up-front yellow floral and yellow stonefruit flavours feature on the palate. The mouthfeel is crisp with lively acidity enhancing the fruit aromatics and refreshing the mouthfeel. This has a good rounded core that unfolds yeast esters and honeysuckle notes as the wine flows along a fine-textured thread leading to a bright, racy and moderately sustained, light-flavoured finish. This is an up-front, lively, aromatic Pinot Gris with lifted stonefruit and floral flavours. Serve with Asian fare over the next 2-3 years. Fruit from the coastal estate vineyards at the Wairau Bar, cool-fermented in stainless-steel to 12.8% alc. and 5.5 g/L RS, the wine undergoing some batonnage. 16.5+/20 May 2015 RRP $19.99
