Te Pa Chardonnay 2019, Marlborough

Chardonnay from New Zealand - Marlborough
Review Date : 23-Dec-2020
Bright, even, golden yellow. The nose is elegantly presented, nuances of stonefruit, citrus melded with cashew, barrel flint and a hint of creaminess. Medium-full bodied, nuances of lemon curd, grapefruit and nectarines interweave orange blossoms, cashews, barrel flint and spices. The flavours are in harmony, the creaminess balanced with flinty oak; the fruit is shining with purity, orange peels, delicate spices linger on the finish, added interest. The mouthfeel has buoyancy and smooth flow, along with fine-textured phenolic, linger with lacy acidity to an elegantly long finish. This an elegant Chardonnay with flavours of grapefruit, citrus, delicate floral and spices enriched by flinty barrel characters on a smooth, fine-textured flow. 100% Chardonnay from single-vineyard St Leonard's in Wairau Valley, handpicked, whole bunch pressed, barrel-fermented to 13% alc, 40% new oak.
