Very pale straw colour with slight green hues, pale on rim. The nose is tightly constructed with an intense core of pure, fragrant aromas of citrus zest, exotic white florals and stonefruits, melded with subtle nutty and biscuit oak and nuances of lemon curd MLF. Dry to taste and medium-full bodied, the palate features beautifully rich and succulent fruit flavours of citrus fruits and zest, white florals, apricots and orange blossom. This has a concentrated core with near-unctuous textures and a rounded mouthfeel. The acidity is integrated, and some alcoholic power provides underlying drive, carrying the wine to a long and sustained finish of exotic fruits with a degree of elegance. This is beautifully exotic and harmonious. Drink over the next 3+ years. Hand-picked Viognier from the ‘Woodthorpe Terraces’ vineyard, fully barrel-fermented to 14.0% alc., the wine aged 10 months in 8% new French oak with batonnage and 100% MLF. 19.0-/20 Mar 2016 RRP $29.90 Bright pale straw-yellow colour with some depth, lighter on edge. The nose is softly full with ethereal aromas that blossom subtly revealing exotic yellow florals, apricots, musk, herbs and nuts. This is very finely presented, soft and detailed, but good clarity. Dry to taste and medium-bodied, delicately interwoven flavours of yellow florals and yellow stonefruits are lifted by exotic tropical fruits and enriched by musk and nuts. The mouthfeel is smooth, integrated and intricately detailed, with soft textures and mellow acidity. A restrained core carries the wine gently to a dry, very fine-textured finish. This is very fine, soft and harmonious. 3-4 years. Hand-picked fruit from the Woodthorpe Terraces, barrel-fermented to 14.0% alc., a small portion in stainless-steel, the wine aged 10 months in wood, a small portion new and with some acacia, with full MLF. 18.0/20 Mar 2015 RRP $29.00
